About Of the Month Awards

 

Writing OTMs is a big way for members of the residence life community to recognize outstanding individuals and programs on campus. OTMs can be written and submitted by students, staff & faculty and serve as the primary source of recognition for the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH). OTM winners on the campus level are submitted on to the regional level to compete against OTMs from other campuses.


 

About of the Year Awards

OTYs are awards that are distributed annually at the End of the Year Recognition Night hosted by the National Residence Hall Honorary and Residence Life. There are eight (8) potential award categories that are distributed through the OTY process:

Individual (Professional)
Advisor of the Year Award
Individual (Student)
Resident Assistant of the Year Award (RA)
Executive Board Member of the Year Award (RHA & NRHH Cabinet)
Inclusive Community Assistant of the Year Award (ICA)
First Year Student of the Year Award
Student of the Year Award
Group/Event
Program of the Year Award
Hall Council of the Year Award
Students are welcome to and encouraged to make each OTY their own through themes, photos and their writing. However there are several requirements that all OTY’s must meet. These requirements will be checked by the NACURH Communications Coordinator (NCC) and the Vice President of Recognition at the initial submission of the OTY for Policy Check.

Of the Year General Requirements:
  • Page numbers starting at the title page
  • A minimum of 2 quotes
    • From students or staff about the subject of the OTY
  • The cover page must have:
    • The name of the award
    • The hall that is submitting it
    • The year
    • The name of the nominee
